 Microbiology Environmental Monitoring Technician

 We are seeking a Temporary with potential for full time 40 hours/wk microbiology laboratory technician to perform environmental monitoring of clean room facilities, water systems and compressed gases systems. We are looking for a person willing to work hard, with great attention to detail to go to client facilities with the PAL team to perform environmental monitoring.

Duties

The Microbiologist duties include the following activities:

  • Performs testing such as:
    • Aerobic and yeast and mold count based on AOAC, USP and FDA BAM methods.
    • Using traditional microbial methods test products for presence or absence of pathogen such as E. coli, Staph. Aureus, Candida, Listeria and other pathogens.
    • Travel to client facilities to perform microbial sampling of compressed gases, water systems and clean rooms.
    • Perform water testing for microbial load, TOC, conductivity and endotoxin.
    • Perform sampling of compressed gases systems such as CO2, nitrogen and compressed air. Testing will include microbial load, non-viable particles, moisture, and purity.
    • Perform sampling of client clean rooms. Testing includes viable and non-viable samples and surfaces sampling.
    • Perform disinfectant efficacy studies.
    • Perform custom microbial studies as needed.
  • Follows protocols and procedures as needed
  • Complies with cGMP and company policies as required
  • Follow company safety policies.
  • Provides in-put and suggestions as part of the company continuous improvement process.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

An Associate college degree in science with at least 5 credits in microbiology. The position requires at least 6 months of hands-on experience performing environmental monitoring in a GMP regulated clean room environment. Good knowledge of microbiology test procedures will be a plus.

 Microbiologist Environmental Monitoring Group Leader

We are seeking a Full-Time Microbiologist Environmental Monitoring (EM) Group Leader to lead PAL’s EM field services for Biotech, Pharma, medical device, and Compounding Pharmacies companies. Services includes validation of clean rooms, water systems and compressed gases systems, and routine sampling of these systems. The Group leader will ensure EM field techs are trained, follow proper safety practices and comply with GMP requirements as needed and with client requirements. You will have to work with clients to ensure we meet their service requirements and GMP requirements as needed. We are looking for a person willing to work hard to ensure employees are happy to work for PAL EM services group and clients are satisfied with PAL services.

 

Duties

 The Microbiologist duties include the following activities:

  • Group Leader duties
    • Lead and mentor EM technicians
    • Train EM technicians on all the procedure for sampling clean room, water systems and compressed gases.
    • Schedule all field EM sampling activities.
    • Communicates with clients to ensure company is meeting client requirements,

    • Prepares SOP’s or study protocols
    • Analyses data and prepares reports

 Requirements

A BS Degree in microbiology. The position requires at least 5 years of hands-on experience in a GMP microbiology laboratory and clean room, and experience performing and leading EM activities for sampling oof of clean rooms, water and compressed gases systems validations and routine testing. Good knowledge of AOAC, FDA BAM and USP microbiology test procedures is required. Expert knowledge of clean rooms and water systems. Experience working in a GMP microbiology lab is highly desirable.

 Analytical Chemist

We are seeking a Full-Time Analytical Chemist to develop, implement and validate analytical chemistry methods for testing client samples.  Samples vary from natural compounds, herbal products, biological and small molecule.  The position requires strong expertise in HPLC, LC-MS, GC-FID-MSD and ICP-MS.  The person will also perform routine chemical testing as needed.  

Responsibilities and Duties
The Analytical Chemist reports to the Lab Operations Director. This position provides a great opportunity to have a positive impact in our new analytical testing lab.

  • Develop, implement, and validate analytical assays based on USP, AOAC or other technical guidance documents. Typical analytical assays performed are HPLC potency assay, identity by HPLC, pesticides by GC-MSD and LC-MS, flavonoids, terpenes, caffeine content, heavy metals, mineral content by ICP-MS and many more.
  • Develop and implement sample preparation for analytical testing.
  • Perform testing of samples utilizing High Performance Liquid Chromatography [HPLC], Gas Chromatography [GC] with FID, MSD and headspace detector, LC-MS, Persee PF7 Heavy Metal Analyzer, ICP-MS, moisture and water activity level.
  • Perform appropriate lab practices and comply with ISO 17025 and GMP requirements.
  • Prepare method validation protocols and reports.
  • Other responsibilities as needed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum requirement is a BS in Chemistry
    • Minimum 10-years hands-on experience using instruments such as HPLC, ICP-MS, LC-MS, GC-FID-MSD and Persee heavy metals analyzer and the appropriate software.
    • Must have extensive experience developing analytical methods using with HPLC’s, ICP-MS, LC-MS and GC-FID-MSD.
    • Expert knowledge of analytical testing, chromatography and good math skills.
    • Experience working in ISO 17025 or GMP environment.
    • Experience establishing analytical method based on AOAC, USP and other technical documents.
    • Excellent documentation and communication skills
    • A team player who will enthusiastically embrace a fast-paced start-up environment.
    • Previous experience working with different type of products and compounds is a plus.

Microbiologist/Molecular Biology Analyst
We are seeking a Full-Time Microbiologist to implement RT-PCR assays and molecular based assays to detect pathogens and allergens. The microbiologist will also perform routine microbiology and molecular biology assays. We are looking for a person with extensive RT-PCR experience, willing to work hard and excellent attention to detail. Duties
The Microbiologist duties include the following activities:
Performs testing such as:

1. Implement, validate and performs RT-PCR and PCR assays for detection of microbial pathogens.

2. Implements and performs assays to detect allergens in food products (ie., gluten, GMO, etc.).

3. Research and implement new microbial assays as needed by clients.

4. Serve as back up for performing aerobic and yeast and mold count by plate count and MPN methods based on AOAC, USP and FDA BAM.

7. Analyses data and prepares reports for client projects.
8. Complies with cGMP and company policies as required.
9. Provides input and suggestions as part of the company continuous improvement process.
